THE DAVIDE CARLONE FARM IS LOCATED IN UPPER PIEDMONT, WITHIN THE ``SESIA-VAL GRANDE GEOPARK``, THE VALSESIA GEOPARK BEING LISTED AS A UNESCO HERITAGE SITE SINCE 2013.
This extraordinary area also includes a park within a park, another nature reserve under environmental protection – the Monte Fenera Natural Park, with its thousand-year-old caves that preserve the remains of the Neanderthal man, as well as the fossil of a Supervolcano, which has left behind a hilly terrain rich in porphyry, where “sons of fire” wines are forged. It is thanks to the uniqueness of this soil, together with the climate, that the wines of this farm are something unique and of extraordinary quality, expressed by a strong mineral note and balsamic traits.
At the Davide Carlone farm, therefore, respect for the environment comes first. The vineyards are located in a wilderness area, surrounded by woods inhabited by a wealth of wildlife, so great attention is paid to land conservation and the agro-ecosystem.
The vines are cultivated using only recyclable materials, such as local wood and stone. In particular, wooden poles for supporting the vines, willows for tying the shoots and organic fertiliser for the soil are used in all the estate’s vineyards, while the use of herbicides is banned, replaced by sustainable practices such as mowing and under-row weed control.
